Bridging Past and Present: Networking

In 1969 Lon Driggers, production manager at Wadsworth, and Al Lindenbaum, representative for Seaboard Paper recognized the need to encourage networking within the developing Bay Area publishing community. Major east coast publishers the likes of Prentice Hall and Addison Wesley were setting up divisions in San Francisco and they thought it would be a great idea for publishing production people and vendors to get together in a neutral environment to get to know one another. No overt selling, just meeting one another and sharing experience and expectations.
