NCIBA | Spring Workshop & ABA Forum

Hosted/Organized by: Northern California Independent Booksellers Association

The NCIBA produces an annual spring workshop—a daylong program which includes a variety of sessions dealing with topics of concern to our members.

  • The Spring Workshop hosts 100-125 booksellers. The event includes a wide range of bookseller education, rep picks, discussion time and, best of all, face-to-face with a mixture of local and traveling authors from both large publishers and independent presses. All authors have forthcoming just published titles.
  • The San Francisco Chronicle Bestseller List is the NCIBA Bestseller List; only NCIBA member stores sales data is used to compile this long-respected list.
  • Local Authors attending the reception are often considered in their respective categories for the NCIBA Book of the Year, “The Poppy.” An appearance at the Workshop offers up a chance to meet committee members for the awards.
  • Keynote: One slot. $950 + 80 books.
  • Author Reception: $495 + 15-20 slots + 75 books.

The Author Reception will be at: The Thoreau Center building, located in San Francisco’s Presidio National Park. Parking and the main entrance are on the backside of the building.

The event will be Sunday, March 29th, 2020 at the Presidio in San Francisco.
