Northwest Editors Guild | PerfectIt Tutorial with Daniel Heuman

Hosted/Organized by: Northwest Editors Guild

We all know that checking for consistency mistakes and other mechanical edits is time-consuming and challenging for even the most eagle-eyed editors. Manually making sure every detail conforms to a style manual can distract us from the most important work of substantive editing. Thankfully, there is a better way! Thousands of editors use PerfectIt to fix small details so they can focus on the work that matters.

PerfectIt is a Word add-in that speeds up checking while still leaving editors in control of every decision. The first half of this session will cover basics for Mac and PC users who have never used PerfectIt before. The second half will cover advanced aspects for users who want to learn how to customize PerfectIt to check style preferences.

Daniel Heuman is the CEO and founder of Intelligent Editing. He developed PerfectIt, which is used by thousands of professional editors around the world. He has spoken at ACES, the Society for Editors and Proofreaders UK, Editors Canada, SENSE, the Editorial Freelancers Association, and many others.

This event is free to attend and open to all editors and members of related fields. Please register for free via the button below, or, if you are a logged-in member, you can find the Zoom information on this page.
