Website Center on Budget and Policy Priorities

CBPP seeks a Senior Editor for Equity to collaborate with policy experts to produce written products that advance the Center’s policy goals and support our ongoing commitment to centering equity within our policy and research work.

The Senior Editor for Equity will work closely with policy staff to distill complex concepts into clear, compelling language and visuals for papers, blog posts, statements, and other documents, ranging from restructuring content to line editing and copy editing.

The Senior Editor for Equity also will collaborate with editorial team colleagues, policy staff, the Center’s VP for Equity and Inclusion, the Equity and Inclusion working group, and other internal stakeholders to develop guidance for adopting asset-based framing in our products; provide strategic guidance on how to communicate about the role of systemic and institutional inequities across programs and policy; and identify effective language for communicating about equity-centered policy solutions.

The Senior Editor for Equity role offers an opportunity for a talented communications professional to help produce products that shape the news and public debate, and advance policies that build opportunity, promote equity, and reduce poverty. A candidate with excellent written communications skills, a strong background in communicating about intersectional issues of racial equity and policy, and enthusiasm for working to advance the Center’s mission will thrive in the role.
