The position is eligible for remote employment – it will exclude the following locations: Alaska, Arkansas, Colorado, Hawaii, Mississippi, South Dakota, West Virginia, Wyoming. We have a high preference for someone to be in our New York, NY office or our Austin, TX office.

The Statistics Content Development Manager is a subject-matter expert who oversees the multiple assets and requirements for creating a digital course. The Content Development Manager coordinates the content and technology for the STEM Statistics discipline, including making sure content is delivered within quality standards, market requirements, budget, and timelines set. The Content Development Manager coordinates with Media Editors, Program Managers, contract and vendor content development teams, Product, Technology, and other teams to ensure the content created meets and exceeds market requirements and uses the most appropriate Macmillan technology for the goals of the program.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Coordinate content and resources across asset types and technologies; coordinate and sometimes directly manage resources and contributors to content including freelancers, vendors, and staff.
  • Provide feedback; establish, maintain, and confirm team priorities to ensure projects stay within budget, on time, and within quality standards.
  • Maintain project schedules and budgets.
  • Develop expertise on Achieve platform and tools as they relate to content development.
  • Update process, product, and content for new technology releases, expected updates, etc.
  • Contribute to content assets by using knowledge of technology, product, and process, as well as subject matter.
  • Manage customer requests, bespoke content, and other assets outside of planned program coverage.
  • Manage the overall expertise and training needs of the content development contractors and vendors, including connecting to resources and clearing obstacles to training.
  • Work with marketing, program managers, product owners, sales, etc. to build prototypes and demo kits, create copy for collateral, and answer questions to generate market feedback and promote sales of product.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree, Masters Degree, or PhD in Statistics
  • 1+ years of experience writing and reviewing content within Statistics
  • Experience teaching Statistics
  • Experience demonstrating excellent communication of complex information, both verbal and written, with a variety of audiences
  • Excellent natural organization and project management skills
  • Experience applying a critical eye for detail
  • Experience managing employees and contractors
  • Expertise using the Achieve authoring system desirable
  • Experience planning and managing large content development projects desirable
  • PMP certification desirable
