Designer, Brand | Chronicle Books

Chronicle Books seeks a mid-level Designer to work with the Brand Design Director and Brand Design team to create innovative, well-designed brand and marketing materials in keeping with the Chronicle Books aesthetic. This role has a focus on digital and online materials but does include some print materials.

The person in this role will manage multiple projects, develop design solutions for online promotions, and work with Brand staff, Marketing, Publicity, and Sales departments. The Designer will design and produce digital and print assets along with trade show and specialty promotional material. Postcards, ads, sell sheets, mailers, and posters will also be designed and produced by the Designer. Other responsibilities include researching vendors, processing covers and art for digital outreach and sales presentations, and organizing archive files.

Candidates should have a B.F.A. in Graphic Design or equivalent, 3 to 5 years of work experience in graphic design, including initial concept generation, through comps, presentations, and preparation of mechanical files. Strong typography skills and basic video and animation skills are must-haves. Knowledge of Premiere and After Effects are preferred. Candidates will need to have a command of Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator), as well as basic HTML & CSS skills. This position requires someone with strong organizational, communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills. The Designer will also need to collaborate and prioritize multiple assignments simultaneously with attention to detail.
