Director of Performance Marketing | Callisto Media

The Director of Performance Marketing leads the in-house advertising strategy and operations to deliver sales results while achieving advertising efficiency goals. This leadership role is a hands-on strategist with deep operational expertise with the Amazon advertising platform. The Director leverages knowledge of advertising best practices including Google, Facebook and affiliate advertising to maximize lower funnel demand capture on Amazon.
In parallel, the Director builds strategies and programs to drive consideration and awareness with mid-funnel tactics such as display, affiliates, direct response, and paid social advertising. The Director’s thought leadership will be the catalyst behind innovative expansion strategy to test, learn and identify growth possibilities. The Director demonstrates superior analytical skills and organizational capabilities in project and campaign management, market research, and data modeling. The Director will also be responsible for identifying, recruiting and developing talents and strengthening the bench.

Responsibilities

    • Design and manage advertising strategy, program implementation and budgets.
    • Drive quarterly planning, forecasting, and reporting.
    • Achieve growth targets while delivering exemplary ROI across digital advertising disciplines.
    • Drive the day-to-day paid-traffic operational rigor, translate data into insights into action planning.
    • Optimize tactical implementations by identifying and prioritizing improvement opportunities. Develop and implement corrections of error.
    • Push innovation boundaries to uncover incremental growth opportunities, drive testing, trial and experimentation.
    • Lead the development of performance marketing strategy to improve lower funnel efficiency while strategically leveraging mid-funnel to enhance effectiveness.
    • Champion requirements for supporting tools to drive scale and enhance advertising operations, as well as for measuring, monitoring, and reporting.
    • Up level bench strength through people development for the team. Coach and mentor to generate award-worthy work and results.

Desired Skills & Experience

    • 5 years of experience designing and managing advertising campaigns.
    • 3 years of experience with Amazon advertising campaign management (must include at least 2 years of Amazon Sponsor Products PPC advertising campaign management).
    • Demonstrated results in generating strong return on investment
    • Google and/or Facebook advertising experience preferred.
    • Affiliate network advertising experience preferred.
    • Strong preference for Amazon experience from the advertising group, or campaign management experience (not account management) from an advertising agency that served clients that advertised on Amazon.
    • Must have strong analytical skills.
    • Expert level or deep expertise in excel.
    • Advertising budget management experience preferred.
