Managing Editorial Assistant | Princeton Architectural Press

Princeton Architectural Press has an immediate opening for a full-time Managing Editorial Assistant. The Assistant will provide administrative support to acquisitions and production editors; this is an excellent opportunity to gain knowledge of the publishing process and interact with colleagues across departments. The position can be based in either our New York City or Hudson, New York, office, and while it is currently a remote position, the expectation is that this role will be partially remote and partially on-site when it is safe to do so.

The Managing Editorial Assistant will update our title management database, coordinate meeting schedules, track copy and proofs, format manuscripts, and assist with monthly reports. Responding to author queries, packaging and shipping author copies, managing submissions, and assisting with special projects will also be part of this job.

Qualified applicants will need a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience, and it is preferred they have a minimum of one year of publishing or other media experience (including internships or fellowships). Familiarity with The Chicago Manual of Style is also preferred. Applicants will need excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, effective communication abilities, time-management strengths, and the ability to work independently. They should be able to prioritize multiple projects and work accurately under deadlines. A working knowledge of Word, Excel, Google Drive, and database software is also required.
