Production Editing Contractor

Parallax Press seeks a detail-oriented freelance Production Editor with experience in print and digital publishing. This is a 15-hour-per-week, non-exempt, contract position that manages the editorial and production workflow for assigned titles, ensuring that manuscripts move smoothly through copyediting, design, proofreading, and final delivery. Responsibilities include setting and maintaining schedules; supervising the work of freelance editors, copyeditors, and proofreaders; overseeing the printing process, including all stages of page proofs and digital proofs; inspecting jacket and cover proof at various stages, and close collaboration with acquisitions, design, and marketing teams.
