Production Manager • The American Academy of Ophthalmology

The American Academy of Ophthalmology is looking for a Production Manager.  As an integral member of the Brand & Creative team, this person establishes, manages and monitors the Academy’s buying practices and standards for the manufacturing of books and is responsible for controlling the cost of goods sold for these products. You’ll work cross-functionally with editors and managers to ensure books are delivered on time, while maintaining quality and costs controls, and manage the print production process for books from concept through production.

This person is also the hub between the in-house creative team, internal clients and external contractors for project intake, and for organizational digital asset management. You’ll manage traffic and assign project requests by reviewing project scope and prioritizing to efficiently utilize internal and external resources. You’ll coordinate and monitor jobs, resolving conflicts and adjusting priorities to ensure project goals and objectives are met. And you’ll oversee our brand-new enterprise digital asset management (DAM) system by managing project assets and supporting key stakeholders using the DAM system.
