Publishing Services Program Manager

Location: Oakland, CA (Hybrid) | Salary: $112,000–$126,400/year

 

The University of California Press—one of the most forward-thinking scholarly publishers—is seeking a dynamic Publishing Services Program Manager to launch and grow a new publishing services initiative.

 

In this 3-year contract role (with potential to extend), you’ll coordinate all aspects of UC Press’s publishing services program, partnering with internal teams, authors, and the California Digital Library. You’ll manage client relations, oversee production and distribution workflows, maintain program systems and data, and ensure high-quality publishing experiences from start to finish.

 

We’re looking for a proactive project manager with at least 5 years of experience, deep knowledge of book publishing processes, a strong collaborative spirit, and a commitment to excellence. Familiarity with publishing tools like InDesign, print-on-demand platforms, and metadata systems is preferred.
