This position directly supervises the day-to-day operations of over twenty peer reviewed journals, as well as Daily Nurse and Minority Nurse, two websites which provide nursing news, career advice, and job postings and is tasked with management of the editorial quality, scheduling, and success of existing and new journals.

The Senior Managing Editor must have the ability to develop strong relationships with Editors-in-Chief, Associate Editors, Editorial Board Members, Society Partners, Reviewers, and Authors; possess a thorough understanding of the academic peer review process and industry trends, evaluate existing workflows and content pipelines; coordinate and work with multiple internal and external teams including Production, Marketing, Vendor Representatives, and Society hierarches.

We seek candidates with at least 5 years of experience working at a high level in print and online academic journal publishing; strong knowledge of academic peer review and industry trends; Familiarity with online submission and peer review systems (e.g., Editorial Manager, ScholarOne) and understanding of major indexing services including Web of Science , SCOPUS, PubMed/MEDLINE, PubMed Central etc.
