Meet the people making it happen at key literary arts institutions in San Francisco!
Have you ever gone to an author conversation at City Arts & Lectures or an event at the Museum of the African Diaspora in San Francisco and wondered what it takes to put together such expansive cultural programming? Perhaps you’ve felt similarly while attending happenings at the San Francisco Public Library’s branches or at the California Institute of Integral Studies?
This month, we pull back the curtain on each of these organizations and go backstage with the people who make it all happen.
Join us for a virtual event on Tuesday, April 2, 5:30pm to 6:30pm PT, when our guests will include:
* Holly Mulder-Wollan, Co-executive Director at City Arts & Lectures, SF
* Nia McAllister, Senior Public Programs Manager at the Museum of the African Diaspora, SF
* Anissa Malady, Community Engagement Coordinator for the San Francisco Public Library
* Alexandra Elliott, Interim Director of Campus Experiences and Events at the California Institute of Integral Studies, SF
We’ll learn about the entire process of event planning from programming criteria and curation, guest solicitation, to day-of technical concerns. We’ll find out about their audiences and how diverse programming is achieved. Our guests will talk about the kinds of authors they’re looking to work with along with examples of recent successful programs. Panelists will let us know what we can do to support their work. We’ll also find out how each person landed their amazing positions in the Bay Area arts world. And, they’ll take your questions!
Hope to see you there.
