Seek, acquire, develop, and edit 5 to 8 new book projects each year, and research, plan, and work with authors (and agents), including timely delivery of content to be used and appropriate marketing materials.

· Develop possible future book projects which the editor believes would best round out the publisher’s existing catalog and expand New World Library’s list, expand customer base, and to explore new areas of interest
· Prepare cost and sales estimates, research project and author potential, and circulate material to be reviewed
· Meet regularly with acquisitions committee (via Zoom or in-person) to present, review, and approve new and existing projects; seek out new authors and agents
· Conduct necessary correspondence, including rejection letters, to facilitate such acquisitions; negotiate deals and prepare and execute contracts with guidance of editorial director and in accordance with New World Library budgets and contract terms
· Complete the timely editing of content to be used and related materials to conform to the accepted style and standards of New World Library, and to assure with reasonable certainty that said materials are accurate and do not infringe the rights of others
· Prepare marketing materials suitable for use of New World Library sales and marketing team and NWL distributor marketing and sales teams, and update online database accordingly, including catalog and cover copy
· Adhere to the company’s systems and policies during all stages of the research and development of the book projects
