American Academy of Bookbinding: Gothic Wooden Board Binding Intensive class

Investigate variations within 15th and 16th century Gothic wooden board bindings. Participants will interact with early historical structures as well as newly constructed models representing multiple variations. Aspects of this binding that will be covered are: double raised cords, worked endbands, shaped wooden boards, simple clasps, and covered in half alum-taw skin.
