Tech Talk: Discussing Our Editorial Tools
With the ever-expanding range of technology, we editors do our best to keep up with what’s useful for supporting our craft: changing hardware, evolving software, maybe a different tool—just keeping our eyes open for ways to work more efficiently and effectively to stay competitive and enjoy our work.
In this “digital potluck” discussion, let’s take a look at various tools we use in our editorial work. Join us and feel free to mention a handy tech tool you appreciate: a software remedy that works for you? computer gear that optimizes your workflow? some geeky-cool tech trick that has helped you cut through a problem? Do you use blogs, blasts, or social media to promote your services? As part of our discussion, three of our fellow members (Laura Deck, Julie Lindow, and Kristen Tate) will each do a short demo of a program they like.
We can walk away with some new ideas and tips to consider, as well as perspectives shared by our always collegial fellow members.
BAEF South Bay Forum Coordinator David Couzens will facilitate our discussion, supported by Karen Asbelle, BAEF Chair, Marilyn Schwartz, SF Program Coordinator, and Kristen Tate, Co-coordinator, EFA-SF Bay Area Chapter.
Zoom meeting link will be emailed to active BAEF and EFA members prior to the forum.
Hope to see you there!
