Contentpreneurs: What Editors Should Know About Literary Agents

July 16 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
Virtual Event
Free
What’s a literary agent do, anyway?
And now that self-publishing is viable, is an agent even necessary? Bay Area literary agent Mike Larsen will give the scoop on all this and more in this presentation hosted by the San Francisco Bay Area Editorial Freelancers Association (EFA) chapter.
Mike and his late wife, Elizabeth Pomada, escaped New York publishing in the early ’70s to come to San Francisco, where they founded the Larsen-Pomada agency. In the past few years, Mike has transitioned to author coaching and has literally written the book on How to Write a Book ProposalHow to Get a Literary Agent, and Guerrilla Marketing for Authors: 100 Weapons for Selling Your Work.
This is an opportunity to hear directly from a literary agent about the process of finding an agent and writing a compelling book proposal, insights we as editors can use to better assist our authors on their path to publishing.
