Opening Reception for
Strikethrough: Typographic Messages of Protest, a collection of over one hundred objects that chart a typographic chant of resistance across more than a century of protest movements. The exhibition showcases typographic anger and agency as seen in the streets, on the printed page, and even on the bodies of demonstrators.
This collaboration between Polymode’s Silas Munro and Letterform Archive’s Stephen Coles began during the upswell of the Black Lives Matter protests in 2020. Throughout the exhibition, Munro and Coles lead us on an exploration of the many ways we voice dissent (VOTE!, RESIST!, LOVE!, TEACH!, and STRIKE!).
Experience the Strikethrough exhibit and then stay to connect with the curators, some of the artists featured in the exhibition, and the Letterform Archive board and team. Celebrate over delicious refreshments and surprise performances.
