I am an experienced editor and writer offering developmental editing, manuscript evaluations, book coaching, line editing, copyediting, and fact checking. My professional journey has allowed me to gain a unique set of skills, and I love translating those skills to edits that provide a new perspective, inspire, strengthen voice, or just add some finishing touches.
I currently work as an editor and first reader for two small independent presses and love working with self-publishing authors. I am also an active member of the Editorial Freelancers Association (EFA) and ACES: The Society for Editing. I appreciate all genres, but am most experienced in literary fiction, horror, crime fiction, and transgressive fiction. Short stories have a special place in my heart! I am willing to learn house style guides, but am prepared to edit to the current version of the Chicago Manual of Style (CMOS).
As a certified Project Management Professional (PMP), I am open to assisting with project management tasks, including managing and editing submissions for regular publications. I have a B.S. in Forensic and Investigative Science and am happy to take on manuscripts with scientific aspects or crime/horror (even if graphic) scenes requiring fact checking or realism evaluations. Please feel free to reach out to me to discuss options and to see if I might be a good fit for your work!
