The primary role of this position is to ingest, edit and enhance content that tells the story of the University of Georgia. This individual will write news, feature, and marketing copy that will be used across platforms including print, social media, and web. The position will also be responsible for editing written content produced by other Marketing & Communications staff members as well as content produced by communicators in UGA schools, colleges, units and departments for accuracy, style and branding. They will also work with writers and the creative team to take a story from idea to publication.

Reporting to the Assistant Director of Media Communications & Relations, the Editorial Content Specialist will be tasked with implementing editorial strategies that align with content marketing and communications efforts across the division and thinking creatively about new and innovative ways to tell the university’s story. The most successful candidates will have experience writing and editing content for multiple platforms as well as multiple content areas, including research, features, profiles, news copy, and marketing copy and be able to provide editorial guidance to writers as needed.

The position will also be responsible for managing portions of the Asana editorial calendar for the Integrated Media Relations team.
